Recommended Christmas Lunch or Dinner in Orange County

Schweinhaxen Dec 20, 2010 09:10 AM

Have not seen a recent post for a recommendation for Christmas Day Lunch or Dinner, and wanted to know what are the options. My family lives in Irvine and Lake Forest and wanted to know what might be good ideas for a buffet, Asian food, or American traditional Christmas fare (roast beef, turkey, ham). Any input would be appreciated!!

    There's a similar thread going: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7543...

I would bet anything that every OC Chinese restaurant in the Irvine area will be open for Xmas day. I'd call over to Tri Village in Irvine and arrange for a Peking Duck. They do an excellent, authentic version and it would be a good choice for a special family meal such as this.

Thanks, I appreciate this. Looks like the Montage is offering $95 for their buffet and the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel buffet is $110. Obviously these buffets are top notch, and I wanted to see what other upscale buffet options might be out there at a restaurant instead of a hotel.

The Montage is an amazing place! Quite magical actually. Since it's Xmas, might as well go all out and do it up right. You won't be disappointed. The food is unforgettable and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!
