Mastering The Art Of French Cooking Volume 2

I just borrowed this book from the library for the recipe for Julia's Lemon Tart with Almonds (having given my copy of the book away years ago unfortunately). I remember it as being very delicious.

The index refers to pages 645-6 but the recipes stop at Page 510 and the remaining pages which are in numerical sequence include miscellaneous information.

No pages were removed from the book - they just are not there.

I am perplexed - does anyone know if there was a printing error with an issue of latterly published Mastering The Art --- Vol 2?

    2. There is no printing error or any pages removed. The recipe is in Volume 1. Check out the following link that has the replies to your earlier post on the same subject.

            Missclawdy, the index of MTAOFC is confusing to anyone at first glance (me included), so no need to be humbled. Gradually, it dawns on the cook that the index page numbers (and type color) refer to Volumes I and II. Hope your lemon tart was very flavorful. By the way, the recipes in MTAOFC are very well-honed, and recipes that appear daunting are easy to follow if you read closely, thanks to Julia. Merry Christmas to you as well.
