Sunday - Late Afternoon - Evening - Pub Near Park Lane [London]

hi,

my english husband and i have a few days in london this weekend before heading into the countryside for a family christmas. all plans are pretty much made except for sunday evening when we are meeting some friends (who are also visiting london). we're getting into london early that day and will grab breakfast or lunch and they are meeting us after having a big lunch with other friends. we haven't seen them in a few years so we're looking for a place where we can talk, have more than a few laughs, eat some nosh and catch up. some decent food would be nice as would some real ale and some good wine by the glass. unpretentious and not fussy works for us. we're staying on park lane near marble arch and so are they so we'd be happy to keep it local, but will entertain other ideas as well. i imagine we'll be tying a few on.

thanks,
jane

I'd second that recommendation. Lovely place. Good beers, good wines.

Now why didn't I think of that! It was the first British pub I ever ate in... many moons ago.

Grenadier's great. Best bloody mary in town! Or try the Guinea Grill on Bruton Place.
