Any Chow-worthy places within an hour of Bryson City?
My husband and I will be staying in a cabin for 4 nights near the NOC. On another reply, someone mentioned the Old Stone Inn in Waynesville.
Are there any other chow worthy places to go if we are only planning on eating ONE meal out?

I was based in Bryson City in July for a vacation in the Smoky Mountains. I was disappointed that there wasn't much in the way of decent places to eat in and close by Bryson City. If you like fast food or trypical American food (grilled chicken, hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches) then you'd be OK. Even the NC barbecue was mediocre.

re: Chow Penguin
Have to agree with you, at least mostly. Husband and I drove around for over an hour once time trying to find food fairly late in the evening in that area. In the end, we would have been better off to drive that hour to Asheville where there is good food.
If it's open, Relia's at NOC used to be good. Annie's Bakery in Sylva is GREAT, but obviously not what the OP asked for. The Admiral in Asheville is worth the hour drive, reservations are a must, and days in advance.
