Now the fun part of an Italian Xmas... where to find these delicacies???? My mother-in-law, now 90+, used to make these wonderful pastries but, alas, no longer has the stamina. And I didn't have the smarts to watch her do them the last few years. Thus the all-points-bulletin. HELP!!

Mmmm anything deep fried & covered in honey has my vote! Have you tried calling any of the usual places (Alati Caserta, Roma, San Marco, etc..)?

No luck at Alati Caserta. While counter staff seemed to know of carteddate, they said that it is a very traditional Italian pastry that would now only be found in the homes of traditional Italian bakers, not a product likely available on the street, either wholesale or retail. The search continue.....heading to St. Leonard today to make the rounds.....
