Recs for nice place in Amesbury/Newburyport area

Any recommendations for a nicer, upscale place in the Amesbury or Newburyport area. I am looking to give a $200 or so gift certificate to some friends that have a 3 year old. I would like it to be somewhere where the couple can get away without the kid for a nice, romantic dinner. I don't know their specific tastes or food preferences/allergies, but would assume somewhere with American cuisine or Italian would be fine.

Thanks for the recs everyone. I decided to give a gift certificate to Ristorante Molise as it's in their town and other web sites gave it the best reviews of all the places listed.

I wouldn't even bother with anything in the area. Look in to Portsmouth, instead. Better choices and better restaurants.

10 Center Street in Newburyport. Good food in an old New England tavern setting.

Glen's in Newburyport would also be a good choice.

I would second Phat Cats. I would say it's romantic and a great spot for an adult night out.

There's a wonderful italian one in Amesbury called Ristorante Molise, right in the downtown. Also, had a great experience at Phat Cats Bistro, one block north of downtown on Rte 150.
Both would work for that amount of $$.
