Village Grec on jean talon street......I'm confused

Yesterday we were at a friends house for a little get together for the holidays. My friend bought some plates of meat from village grec and everybody brought a little bit of everything.

Never been to village grec so I can't talk about their other dishes. I wasn't impressed by the meat?!?! My friend bought lamb and their Doner meat (mix of lamb,pork and veal all together)

I was really disappointed with the taste not the quality because it was really good meat. It was bland!!!

I would have thought that lamb like souvlaki was seasoned and marinated. This was cooked it seems with no or little seasoning. The souvlaki were okay but not ma favorite one.

so that was the thrill of my last evening ...

I used to swear by their gyro until 5-6 years ago when I had the most disgusting gyro ever. I never went back and also at the same time I discovered Nostos and I was hooked.

Anybody else notice any change in the quality?
It may be true that the doner has become more hit and miss recently...

Well, as a regular delivery customer of many years, I have notice some small changes in habits over the last year or so. Very small things, that did not deter me from my experience, but made me wonder if there was a change in ownership: changes from iceberg to romane lettuce ; pitas are less tightly packed: they unfold more, and now come in boxes of styrofoam (been meaning to complain about that, but haven't yet) ; some small things like that...BUT, I have been watching for any change in the taste, and so far haven't found any. But I haven't ordered for a few weeks, now, I guess I'm due to check it again, you are having me worried.

But I'm hoping you just got a bad batch.
