Kubo Asiatic is ridiculously good.

We had been thinking about going to Kubo since it opened.

Wednesday night we jumped in with the 5 course tasting menu and matching sake/wine. The sommelier Bob was a friendly, amazingly informative plus. Each course was yummier than the next. The vibe is definitely not too hipster and relatively comfortable for a funky place.

We didn't even know we had been chatting with Roy, the owner for a few minutes. Very welcoming and fun.

But the food was some of the best we've had in the tri-county area. The green tea infused salmon with basil and yuzu filled berries was delicious. I could have eaten a giant bowl of the Korean steak over truffle and shittake mushroom/mashed potato. My boyfriend really loved the mango ginger infused sorbet and dessert of green curry/ ganache fried dumplings. It was all just amazing.

I just wish the location was better. No one will ever say that they just drove by and stopped in... we knew where it was and still got confused. But foodies from far and wide should seek this place out. Felt like I was back in NYC, getting a real treat with each course.

  1. A ridiculously good place in NPB? I will have to try this out then.

This is located in the Crystal Tree Plaza just north of the Parker Bridge (Intracoastal) on US-1.

Yep. Right over that bridge on the west side of US1. Crap location in the back of the plaza. Completely great menu and neat decor. I sure hope it gets good word of mouth so people can find this little gem. Yum.

Most people in NPB are not nearly as adventurous as this menu but I hope it works. This will have to draw people from outside the immediate area.

Here is a menu link until their website is up.
