BB Kings or House of Blues

Hi all,

Staying near Sea World with wife, brother and his gf, and my two boys aged 2 and 4 months. Thought it would be fun one night to have dinner with some live music and saw BB Kings on restaurant.com. Also then noticed House of Blues on there.

Anyone been to both, or prefer one over the other?

Any other suggestions for non-chain restaurants nearby also appreciated. We are also going to Thai Thani and Wolfgang Pucks (downstairs).

I've only eaten at BB King's once, but what my table ordered we really enjoyed. The atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I do not hear good things about the food at HOB.

I've eaten at both recently. Similar quality food at both places. If you going for the live band then you have to go to BBK. The bands start early and play through dinner. I believe that the bands at HOB go on much later (after 9 I think). On the plus side for HOB is the fact that it is in Downtown Disney which is a nice (free) place to spend a night walking around.

Unless you're craving fried pickles and fried green tomatoes, from what I hear the food at BBK is just okay. HOB doesn't rate highly for its food, except for the Sunday Gospel Brunch (2 seatings). If it were me,and I had to pick for dinner, I'd go with the one potentially having the best music that night. Looks like both use their house bands a lot.
