The bf and I are picking up a friend from LAX tonight (her flight lands at 10:30pm) and we'll want to head immediately to dinner before returning home to BH. What's open late that is more or less on our way home?

Bilal would be great, BUT we've already taken this friend there. I'm not a fan of Place Yuu, but is there anything else open late on Sawtelle? I'm thinking Fassica would be good, but would love some other options as well.

Thanks!

Of course, depending on what you mean by late night I offer the following:

La Cabana - take Lincoln from LAX and turn left at Rose Ave. in Venice - La Cabana is almost on the corner, serving decent Mexican food until 3am every day (and decent becomes excellent by 1am)

Dan Tana's - serves expensive but excellent old world (Hollywood style) Italian 'til 1am on Santa Monica Blvd. just east of Doheny (B.H./W.H. border)

Pann's - La Tierja & La Cienega near LAX, coffee shop legend open 24hr.

Hope this helps.

Pann's is only open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., (which is why I didn't recommend it for them right from the start figuring with flight landing at 10:30 they would never be there in time).

If you've never been, you really should take your friend to Pann's. Great food, cool Googie architecture, really comfortable. It's a fun place to take visitors too since it's where they filmed the diner scenes in Pulp Fiction.
