Fancy Organic Dinner?

  • 6

I'm looking to send friends to a really nice celebratory dinner. They are into organic food. Any stellar recommendations. Price isn't important...just great food. I heard Pure Food and Wine is good but I'd love personal recommendations. Thanks!

  1. AFAIK, Pure Food & Wine is all raw food. If that's what you had in mind...

I'm not sure there are many (if any) restaurants that use ONLY organic products. That said, Blue Hill grows much of the products they serve in their restaurants; and Savoy focuses on local, seasonal ingredients extensively. Both of these restaurants have the celebratory atmosphere I'm guessing you're looking for.

      Thanks! Exclusively organic isn't necessary...

    2. ABC Kitchen is primarily focused on sustainable ingredients. Fancy enough for a celebration dinner, I would think.

      1. I would send them to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. It doesn't get more special than that! http://www.bluehillfarm.com/food/fact...

Second this rec. It's really amazing. We're thinking of going again soon. Really spectacular and fun to visit the farm too! Here's the write up of our last meal there.http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7140...

        2. had a great experience with the tasting menu at pure food & wine. went with a group of four and for many courses we all got different dishes and shared, which allowed us to taste even more. i highly recommend it.
