Looking for oysters in Pawleys/Litchfield
We'll be spending Christmas at Litchfield this year and are looking for a place with excellent oysters. I've searched the boards in vain. Any new chow tips would also be appreciated. I have a good list of the standard favorites. Thanks!

If you are willing to drive north, in North Myrtle Beach is Rockafellers and Bimini's. Both do steamer's really well. For the best dining experience in the Litchfield/Pawley's area I highly recommend Frank's/Frank's Outback. They do a lot of smal plates. My pork belly small plate and bowl of She crab soup were simply outstanding.

Gilligan's Steamer and Raw Bar offers fine seafood including raw or steamed oysters.

re: Littleman
Gilligan's Steamer and Raw Bar SUCKS. We go to Pawleys/Litchfield about 8 times a year and we took some friends who were visiting for their first time to Gilligan's. We were so embarrassed by the poor quality and average raw oysters, from Apalachicola (in the Gulf) right after the oil spill. They waitstaff are really sweet, but the food is so mediocre. We cringe every time we drive past now.

I can't help you with Litchfield proper, but if you're up for a little drive come south on 17 to Seewee, in Awendaw. The fried oysters there are done just right.
