40th Anniversary dinner on a Sunday

Could anyone suggest a restaurant that features fresh ingredients and great salads - and is open for dinner on Sunday - for my parents' 40th anniversary?

    I would go to 93 Harbord over Harbord Room any day.

      I'm in the same boat. Not really a fan of Harbor Room.

      What about Chiado on College? It is more formal but the food is lovely and I've always been pleased. it is a fitting celebration location. However, I cannot comment on the salads specifically.

        Really? Nothing? So far I'm down to Harbord Room. That is all. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

          I'm in the same boat. Looking for recommendations for dinner on Sunday. If you want my two cents, I am not a huge fan of Harbord Room. I've been there a few times and seem to always be disappointed. If you're wanting that neighborhood, I'd rather go to the Boulevard Cafe. More laid-back and cozy, but the food is quite tasty. Both my parents love that place, too, and we have gone there for many a meal. Service is always friendly and timely.

            I don't think Harbord Room serves any great salads, and I wouldn't take my parents there for their 40th. The burger is the best thing on the Harbord Room's menu, AFAIK.

            If your parents like seafood, Starfish is a nice restaurant that's open on Sunday nights, and is usually fairly quiet Sundays (but energetic-loud Thu-Sat). Not many salads on the menu, though. http://www.starfishoysterbed.com/aboutus.htm

            Second the Chiado rec. Chiado also doesn't have too many salads on their menu.

            If you're interested only in a restaurant that has great salads, check out this thread:
            http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/693621?tag=search_results;results_list , and if any of the salads mentioned interest you, check to see if the restaurant is open for dinner on Sundays. Scanning the list quickly, Tabule would be open Sundays, as well as any Greek restaurant on the Danforth.

            For other Sunday ideas, always remember to check what's open through Opentable:
            http://www.opentable.com/opentables.aspx?t=reg&n=2720,5675,3086,2600,1210,1211,5264,1575,4793,1212,1213,1214,5810,1215,3791,1216,6833,6185,1217&mn=164&m=74&p=2&d=12/19/2010%207:00:00%20PM#state{MetroAreadID:74|MacroID:164|NeighborhoodList:2720,5675,3086,2600,1210,1211,5264,1575,4793,1212,1213,1214,5810,1215,3791,1216,6833,6185,1217|SearchType:reg|RequestedRegions:164}

            Biff's and Globe Bistro would be nice options for a Sunday night anniversary dinner and they can be booked online through www.opentable.com.

              Starfish would be lovely option as well. Not a pricey as Chiado but not fine dining either. Comfortable good food and service.
