"California" cuisine (with a few restrictions) on the Westside tonight?

Hi Hounds-
My SO has to organize a dinner for some colleagues tonight on the Westside with some restrictions:
They specified "California" cuisine,
no "pasta-heavy" menus (the boss thinks that makes the place Italian),
they have been to Gjelina, Upper West, and Tasting Kitchen over and over, so they're out too.
Thanks for the recs!

Fig, in the Fairmont in Santa Monica would be a great choice.

      Thanks everyone-
even though we live on the westside I draw a blank sometimes for these things.
      Cheers.

My idea of California cuisine is Cafe del Rey and you cant get more west side.

          Michael's in Santa Monica
Fraiche in Santa Monica or Culver City (though, they do have pasta on the menu)
          Rustic Canyon in Santa Monica.

Cal cuisine on Westside? Rustic Canyon. Tavern Brentwood would be a close second.

              a few thoughts:

              westside tavern
              tavern
              upstairs2
