Phantom Gourmet Feedback Forum shutdown?

jjbourgeois Dec 14, 2010 09:59 AM

Don't go to the site often, but nothing has been approved for posting since early October. Andelman's finally give up on the concept?

Losers with a loser forum. Couldn't dare post a neg about one of their advertisers. Won't miss it or them.

My guess is, they've shifted it all over to their Facebook page. They post questions there every day now, with hundreds of people answering a given question every now and then.

That would make sense. Didn't even think about FaceBook, but then again I do not use it.

Here is their page. I believe you can see it even if you aren't on Facebook:

I imagine that the Phantom's FB page is like the Feedback Forum, i.e., heavily censored to protect their sponsors. I can tell you that they are good enough sports to leave my comments in that take some gentle shots at the Andelmans themselves. They even left in a post where I cited my "Chowhound vs. The Phantom Gourmet" takedown / drinking game from my blog. But protecting the revenue stream will always be paramount there.

They should give it up. I haven't contributed in ages, it is way to frustrating to wait 4 hours or more for a posting and then of course responses. I'm sure they monitor this site for ideas for their show so what do they need feedback forum for?

Apparently they read ChowHound, they started adding posts today. Pretty sad for them. They really should hang it up.

If I haven't used something in 30 days I probably don't need it.

They would NEVER, EVER let me post a negative comment on the Upper Crust. or Firefly's. I would post something benign, and then go in and edit my post to say what I really wanted to say. It wasn't "moderating". It was censorship. Totally lost me once I discovered this site.

They got it right when they started running the Three Stooges in the adjacent time slot. The board is a censored waste of time.

LOL!! I did too, for stuff I posted in September. They just approved, from the looks of it, dozens of posts from the past 4 months. I guess they don't realize how truly pathetic it makes them look. Most of the posts are from one time posters with links to tax services, gambling sites, porn sites, cheap shoes and clothing. It's so sad it's hysterical. At this point, it would be in their best interests to shut the site down. But then again maybe the Andelmans like porn and cheap shoes.
