Cafe Fiori, Randolph
I am thinking about trying this place since it's convenient to an event I am attending. I haven't heard much - anybody been yet?

I've never eaten there (probably one of a million semi-decent Italian joints in Morris County), but I can recommend the Black River Barn, which is not far. Stay away from the Millbrook Pub. There's also a breakfast/lunch place called Le Peep just up the road. Enjoy!

Well, I gave it a try and it made a good first impression. The menu was fairly standard NJ Italian with a few exceptions, like escargot on the daily specials. As a pastaholic, I liked the fact that you can have a half portion of pasta as an appetizer for $7.95. I had the meat ravioli with bolognese sauce. The ravioli were obviously homemade and had some toothiness that I liked. Sauce was good, not fabulous. I ordered the stuffed pork chop valdostana (spinach, prosciutto, fontina) and was pleasantly surprised. Often it can be heavy, but this was just right. The pork didn't have a lot of flavor, but that's more a function of what's available. I'll go back for second try.
