Menu 1962!
Greg - You may find this 1962 menu an eye-opener. This was one of the few delis in Halifax in those days. They also had a restaurant which eventually became The Tokay. The prices are astounding even in Canadian dollars. You may have to zoom in to read it.
I have a few more around and will see if I can dig them up.

In 1962, the avaerge hourly wage for a male was around $2 and for a female it was around $1.25 so I'm not sure that the prices were astounding.
