Holiday Dinner for Group of 8

Suggestions for a holiday dinner, no sushi, casual/elegant, but more on the elegant, but not stuffy or too fancy (ie no hotels that are quiet and fancy. More louder, fun atmosphere)
My boundaries are Malibu to Burbank and south to Downtown.

can you clarify your boundaries? when you say south to Downtown, is that from Burbank? and what's your budget? a price limit per person or per entree would be helpful. also, what night of the week?

Yes, my northern border would be Burbank/Pasadena to Malibu all the way south to downtown.
No price limit and a Friday.
