I recently had one with prosciutto at The Curious Palate in Mar Vista - it was excellent.

I am fond of Panini Garden on Main Street in Santa Monica.

I'm fond of Amelia's nearby on Main Street. Haven't been to Panini Garden.

Mendocino Farms in Marina Del Rey has some great ones. One of my favorites is their Prosciutto & Roasted Chicken with local Gioia fresh mozzarella, crushed honey roasted almonds, basil pesto, balsamic vinegar, tomatoes on panini grilled ciabatta. Good sandwich.

Along these same lines, does anyone have an opinion on the restaurant Il Tramezzino? It's supposedly known for its paninis. They have locations in BH and in the Valley. I'm curious because they are opening up on the UCLA campus in the old Espresso Roma location.
