What is your favorite neighborhood breakfast place inside of Loop 12.

I'm interested in finding restaurants like Kuby's, John's on Lower Greenville, or Lucky's, places that folks in the neighborhood go regularly for breakfast. No chains please, and a focus on local ambience. Extra points if it's cheap.

  1. I like Lucky's and Original house of Pancakes. Although sometimes I'll go to Bubba's or Einstein's.

Forgot about Kuby's. Also very good and, inexpensive too.

    2. All Good on Main at Walton is a good local's place. Breakfast doesn't start til 9am, though...cuz the locals are still sleeping...

      1. Kel's at Forest and Inwood....altho slightly outside the loop you mentioned.

        1. Allgood is a perfect solution but I also like the little food stand outside shed #2 at the Dallas farmers market for the perfect breakfast gordita. They have other breakfast items, but I like this one fully loaded and ask for queso ranchera (their word for queso fresco), and be sure to add their salsa verde.

We tried Kubys Yesterday and is was excellent, and an amazing value. Extra points for mixed and interesting customers.

          2. I Went to Original House of Pancakes (Eastbound Lemmon) this morning for breakfast.
Per a discussion on a different thread, I tried the corned beef hash with two (perfectly) poached eggs. Delicious!
With coffee and $2.00 tip my bill was less than $12.00.
