Just one family night in Delray

Family of 5, one or two picky eaters (they'll deal)....we are staying at Residence Inn on Atlantic and walking would be awesome (we are NYers and like to walk). Atlantic Ave is fine; I just don't want to have to search when we get there so as to enjoy the last night before we go home.
Thanks in advance!

  1. Boston's is always a good choice. It has been there forever and is on the beach. It has a varied menu and pretty good seafood. not fancy at all so kids will be comfortable. Take a look on line and see what you think! Enjoy!!!

    1. When will you be here? Christmas week? Also, what are the ages - you did not mention kids as far as I can tell. (Could be older family). Any ethnic food you like / don't like? Any budget range? Adults looking to drink alcohol? Outdoors preferred if not too cold?

Any cuisine type? Will 3 of them be happy with chicken fingers or are you looking for some actual decent food?

      1. We've never had a bad meal at Sonoma.

Sonoma Cafe and Bistro has closed according to their website. http://www.sonomacafe.net/ but they did open something across the street. It is called Atlantique Cafe. the website is http://www.atlantiquecafe.com/

        2. I've heard mixed reviews and it's new so I haven't been yet, but Deck 84 may be a really good option for a family of 5 with picky eaters, seems to have a diverse menu and it's on the intracoastal waterway so good for out of towners. www.deck84.com

          1. I might suggest....Boheme Bistro, the Office or Sazio. All on Atlantic and walkable.

            1. Thank you so much for all the great suggestions. Deck 84 looks fabulous to me (althought their website is mighty unwieldy) but my bet is (4 teens, some more adventurous than others; 2 parents, who drink; January 2) is we will walk to Boston's. Wish it was called Miami's....I am jonesing for Florida seafood, not New England. But the location/menu look great for our group

              Thanks again for the help!

Lichow - If you are happy with Boston's type food, and it's your last night in FL before returning to the cold north, you may want to consider a cab and go up to Two George's on the Intracoastal in Boynton. You'll be right on the water - dining on a dock basically. IMHO this would be a FAR more interesting experience to end your trip with, than Bostons. And they have conch chowder, dolphin sandwich, etc. The kids can even wander around the nearby waterfront area while you are having after dinner drinks or whatever.

that sounds fabulous! we actually have a car; I am just always eager to walk wherever. Thanks for the recommend!

              2. 7 replies and no mention of Bamboo Fire? Run, don't walk! Best meal in Delray hands down. And they will accomodate the "picky eaters" in any way possible.

I love Bamboo fire, but I'm not sure it would work for the non adventurous. For example I suggested it to my parents. My dad would try it, but my mom probably won't want to go even if they would do easier stuff for her. I lost her when I say curry. Oh well, her loss.

                  2. Dada's is always serving up some great food, and a great atmosphere. and I will second Bamboo Fire as well
