pork skin

Hi. I'm making a daube that requires pork skin. Where can I find it in Boston/Brookline/Cambridge ideally? (I live in JP.) I didn't see it at the Brighton Whole Foods--do I need to ask the counter guy for it? Thanks.

Ming's or C-mart in Chinatown will usually have it. Kam Man in Quincy always has it.

If you're in JP, have you tried Hi-Lo Foods? They may well have it.

The Somerville Market basket usually carries pork skin, scraped of the fat. I am pretty certain its also available from Puritan Beef at Haymarket towards the weekend because they display skin-off pork belly, as well as skin-on, but I see it irregularly in the case so it might only be when they are cutting it for the weekend rush. I have seen it in some Asian markets from time to time, but dunno about the Allston Hong Kong market. When you want something specific, its always good to ask at the butcher's counter.

How much do you need? Boston butt/pork shoulder/picnic shoulder cuts often still have the skin attached. I just buy it at Stop & Shop. (of course, then you'd have a pork shoulder to use up, but that's not a problem at our house).
