Nescafe Dolce Gusto pods

SourberryLily Dec 12, 2010 07:45 AM

I won a nescafe dolce gusto machine. For those of you who don't know this machine, here it is:

I could order their pods from the site but i was hoping to find them in store in Montreal. Hopefully cheaper if possible.

I don't think other brand pods are compatible, but i could be wrong. I only got the machine 2 days ago.

Anybody seen these pods at a store or at Costco?

Unlike Nespresso pods, Dolce Gusto pods are pretty easy to find. I've seen them at all the supermarket chains. They are always next to the Keurig and Tassimo pods.

EDIT to add: You can also buy pods in stores that sell the machines. I'm pretty certain The Bay sells them.

I have a gift card for that place, so it's perfect! Do you remember how much was a box of 16?

8.99 is the standard price everywhere. I wonder if anyone has seen these on special anywhere?
One thing to keep in mind is you get points for each box you buy. You can manage your points on the dolce gusto site. And you can use the points to get free pods. You also get points by registering your machine.

Didn't find any at the La Baie downtown but Deco Decouverte had the entire collection. What's more is that tey gave a 10% discount coupon for january, so i guess i will go stock up again after xmas.

I know this is a little off topic, but I thought it may be of use to some here.

Nestle is offering a $20 rebate for those that are going to buy a Dolce Gusto machine. Offer ends January 15 2011.

We purchased a machine last week and let me tell you, trying to find those pods downtown was an adventure. Some grocery stores have one or two types. We basically gave up on finding them downtown. So off to loblaws VSL we went and also only a couple of varieties. Tried Costco but no such luck. Walmart supposedly has them but we only found empty shelves. The dolce gusto sample lady however had plenty of boxes but not for sale. This past weekend we went to quarter Dix30. Deco decouverte had the entire collection! Success!

Do you know if they have the whole collection? or maybe more than just a couple of types?

Better hurry as Cinq Saison will be closed for demolition shortly before being re-built.

Sad my other comments in this thread were deleted though :(

no idea if the price is good -- because i dont use a dolce machine (i love my nespresso though)

but costco online sells the pods ... free shipping too (and i dont think you need to be a member to buy online)

You do need to be a member to buy online - you can't complete an order without a membership number.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you don't need to be a member to buy on Costco.ca, but you pay less if you are. You do need to register to shop online, but you don't need to be a member of the retail outlets.

"Non-members will be charged a 5% surcharge over the member's posted product prices (except for cash cards, which can only be sold to members). If you are not a member, we encourage you to join. For more information, click on the Membership button above."

You learn something new every day...I guess because I've always automatically put my membership number in when I buy something, I just assumed you had to have one to shop on the site. Nice to know, for those who aren't members, though - the prices are still mighty reasonable, even at 5% higher.

Interesting! Funny though, i thought it would be cheaper at Costco. One box is 9$ regularly. 3 boxes are 30$ at Costco.

The free shipping is a good deal though, unless i can get them for a decent price at the Bay or Deco Decouverte like others mentioned!

I also won one, I'm guessing in the same competition on Sweetspot, so i'm following this thread with interest!

Yes it is. I like it although I'm a little pushed for counter space. All I need now is a sleek designer loft with a minimalist kitchen to go with it!
I liked the hot chocolate and cappuccino, but didn't like the macciato so much. Haven't tried the espresso yet as I'm having a little trouble cheating on my trusty Saeco ;-)

i hear you about the counter space. I liked the americano best so far. I don't think i had any expresso pods just : americano x2, lungo x2, cappucino x2, hot chocolate and machiato

I noticed today that they sell them at me local Metro. It isn't downtown, but maybe the Metros downtown do?

I just found some at the IGA at Alexis Nihon ( chocochino, cappuccino and americano) at $8.99 each. Deco Decouvert is too far for me.
@ SourberryLily, I got the same pods as you, but I thought the brown ones were espresso, hadn't looked properly!
