Great new Italian in San Jose

We had a great meal at Paesano tonight, 350 W. Julian Street in San Jose, near downtown and reasonably close to the SJC airport. We are in town for a flight tomorrow and lucked out finding this restaurant. It just opened this week (on the site of the former Lowrey's Irish Coffee House) in what apparently once was and may become again San Jose's Little Italy. We had delicious minnestrone soup, a ravioli dish with cheese, artichokes, tomatoes, and mushrooms and spaghetti porticello with shrimp and scallops. The ravioli is made on the premises, along with several other pastas. There is also a nicely chosen brief list of italian and Californian wines (the sangivesse is a winner). Ambience and service were as good as the food. One caution - watch the parking meter!
