Recs for Indian Food takeout on Christmas Day?

I'd like to get takeout Indian food for Christmas Day dinner, for a group of 15 people (of which 3 are children), and 4 are strict vegetarian. What places in the Cambridge, Belmont, Watertown, Arlington, Somerville area would you recommend? I'm looking for a good combination of decent food, accessible location (where I can easily park my car and pick up, and I can park in residential Cambridge spots), and reliable (order done on time, packed up correctly, not missing items, etc.). We haven't eaten out Indian food for years, so really don't know what's good out there anymore. Thanks\ for any ideas.

  1. my favorite Indian restaurant is tamarind bay in harvard square. Parking is a problem and missing items have occurred so that i check the bag whenever i order before i leave. People also seem to like the kebab factory though i have not been there. I was disappointed in Tamarind Bay Coastal my one time there.

    Tamarind Bay
75 Winthrop St, Cambridge, MA 02138

    1. Guru the Caterer, in Somerville, is a perennial favorite on the board and oriented specifically towards catering/pick up. They get a ton of praise, though I haven't gotten to try it yet. You'd have to call and see if they will be open on Christmas, though:

      Guru the Caterer
      1297 Broadway, Somerville, MA

      1. Bollywood Cafe in E Lexington (just over the Arlington line) has a parking lot, good food, and could even deliver. I used them for a group of 20 a few weeks ago and everyone was happy.

        1. I have had excellent experiences with Tanjore in Harvard Square. The food is really good and they know how to deal with large orders really well. They have a South India menu too and your vegetarian friends will particularly like that option as it is something different. Same for the kids as Tanjore does dosas which are really kid friendly. For a large group I recommend multiple orders of the Tanjore Tiffin (mixed vegetarian appetizers) and the Bread Basket.

          1. Namaskar in Davis Square has never let us down. Food is wonderful, both eat-in and take-out. Plenty of veg options and parking shouldn't be a problem around Christmas since all the Tufts kids will be gone. Problem is, I don't know if they'll be open on Christmas Day. Could you pick-up the day before and re-heat?
