A tradition with Italian families is the "Feast of the seven fishes"......usually fried,...I would like to know if there are any restaurants serving this treat on Christmas eve ?

See Rosie Saferstein's blog at New Jersey Monthly:
    http://njmonthly.com/blogs/tablehopwi...

    which mentions:
    Casa Dante in Jersey City
    Catherine Lombardi in New Brunswick
Joe Palombo's Mirabella Cafe in Cherry Hill
Scaturro's Restaurant & Bar in Marlton

...and I will be serving a feast of fish and seafood at my house on Christmas Eve too!

The wife and I have gone to Casa Dante the past two years and it was enjoyable. It's got an old-school feel and is nice for getting into the Christmas spirit. I'd recommend it if you're in the area, but we won't be driving the hour-plus for it this year.

It's probably not what you're looking for, but last year the Whole Foods in Middletown did something along those lines.

I've with you, we recently moved to Middletown and I'm looking for a place doing a Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner in the area. My Google skills have been put to the test and I'm coming up empty. I found one place up in Woodbridge but we're trying to say down in the shore area.

My latest idea is to make our own Feast at Bahr's, which is open Christmas Eve. They have just about everything we'd get elsewhere on the menu.

But if anyone else comes across a place, I'd love to know.

Can't help you in the shore area but as noted above Catherine Lombardi in New Brunswick is open on Christmas Eve. According to CL's web site, they will be offering "our regular a la carte menu as well as a Traditional Italian-American Christmas Eve Feast of Fish". If you are interested, I suggest you phone them to make sure it's what you're after.

Tre Piani in Princeton is doing Seven Fishes. It's not on their site but I called and they're doing it. I should have written down the menu, but it sounded good. She expected it to be posted online, so maybe the next day or two. It was $65/person, minimum of two people (I think some of it's served family style).

In Lawrenceville, I read that Enzo's Piccolo Cugina is doing it. I last ate there two years ago. Very good, all homemade, family owned/operated for many years. Just seemed a little pricey ($27 ), if I remember, for tilapia. It is BYOB.
