Fleur de Lys vs. La Folie for Anniversary

My sis is interested in going out for a nice French dinner for her wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Right now she's torn between Fleur de Lys and La Folie. I've been to both places and enjoyed them both, though I thought La Folie had better food and Fleur de Lys had a nicer decor and ambiance. Differences were small enough though that either would do for her I think.

My sis is not a super-foodie but she appreciates well-prepared food and excellent service and ambiance. Her top dining experience was The Dining Room at the Ritz, but had a really bad experience at Gary Danko that she almost swore off fine dining altogether. I'd really like her to have a great experience for their anniversary and hopefully restore her faith in these type of restaurants.

Any strong opinions either way?

  1. Go to La Folie. Bring an appetite.
