first time in chicago and

going to chicago for the first time this and was on and was wondering of the places to eat on in the 60601 area. what are the best places to go to ?? Please highlight, comment or give some tips on which ones you’d recommend and which ones to stay away from.

  1. Side note - Make sure you call the restaurant to find out if they are still accepting the gift certificates. Trust me on that one.'s customer service is great, and they will replace your certificate with no issues, but their listings are not updated in a timely fashion at all. So don't leave it to chance on your certificate being valid if/when you purchase it. Call the restaurant beforehand.

    1. The only places I would recommend from your list are Kiki's and Quartino's. Hugo's isn't bad if you don't mind the "Viagra Triangle." Pegasus is ok Greek; Emilio's is ok tapas. I've heard good things about Zocolos, but never been there. Everything else is either very ordinary, or I've never heard of it.

      Do you have to go by the list? I suspect that many of the restaurants listed there aren't doing super well and that's why they are listing there. There are much better options recommended all over this board. Or maybe you want to consider going outside of the 60601 zip code and take a taxi to another neighborhood.
