      22nd & Chestnut.

Pretty much all of Rittenhouse is accessible but for really close places, I'd say Village Whiskey for "eats & neats" (and cocktails). For just cocktails and maybe a snack, Ranstead Room is great. The bar at Tinto is nice for wine as well. These are not cheap places to drink however. Tria and Franklin are not far either, the former for wine/beer/small eats and the latter for cocktails (also not cheap).

There are a couple Thai places and a Korean place very close to there, they are ok, but really not great. El Rey has ok Mexican food. There are some good counter service places close, like Tampopo (noodle/rice house), El Fuego (burritos), Dolce Carini (pizza).

barryg more or less covered the area. If you're willing to walk a little further, Doobie's is a good local dive bar w/food (22nd and Lombard), and Pub & Kitchen (20th and Lombard) is a slightly more upscale (than doobie's) gastropub.

if you're taking patco in, you could get off sooner at 8th/market or 9th/10th and walk up to Chinatown, then over to the church. It's a bit of a hike, so it might be weather dependent.
