Cog Almighty Fishery (Westfield, NJ)--anyone tried it yet?
Haven't have a chance to get there--any reviews?

I've stopped in twice now, and find it enjoyable. Nice and crispy batter, and both the cod or the basa are good. I like the spice on the chips, and they serve fried pickles and fried oreos. Of course, I haven't had either yet, because after eating the fish and the fries I don't want to go overboard on more fried goodness. But one day I might just do those.

The fish is fresh, the batter is good. It's not the best fish and chips I've ever had but for the area which was in need of one with the chippery gone it's a place you should give a shot to. I have eaten there a few times and tried a variety of things with people there's been no complaints from anyone.
Albinoni It's on South Ave in Westfield near Buona Pizza/Shoprite Liquors (Inside that strip mall)

After the closing of the famous and forever missed, Fanwood Chippery, I was hoping the Cog might be the long awaited, replacement.

Apologies if this has already been discussed.
I hope this really happens - Friday nights haven't been the same since they closed :-(

re: HillJ
Curiosity got the better of me yesterday so I took a drive to Fanwood. Sad to say, it doesn't look like anything much has been done. I missed the closing of the Chippery, but it probably looks now as it did the day after the doors closed. The only "signs of life" I saw were posters in the windows advertising Sunday brunch at Flannery's.
Maybe the new owners are having permit problems with the town, I dunno.
Here's hoping things get worked out and we can enjoy some crunchy goodness soon.

The name of the place is actually the Cod Almighty Chippery. Check out Yelp for some comments.
