An amazing restaurant in an unlikely place

  • 4

Tonight for the first time I visited this restaurant and it was great. I got some food to go. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I ended up getting Puttenesca. It had kalamata olives, red onion and capers. It tasted like the one I make. Like someone authentic recipe. It was so delicious

The owners wife (co-owner) makes the Tiramisu by scratch and it's the best I have ever had!

It's in Bloomington right off of 169 and Anderson Lake parkway. I can't wait to go back! Has anyone else been here?

  1. Yes, I've been there several times! It is a nice little neighborhood secret we like to keep. Everything on their menu is good, and the service is excellent.

I recommend their mussels appetizer. We eat the mussels and then use the bread they serve to mop up the rest of the sauce the mussels came in. So delicious!

I would love to try it, but I have a sea food allergies. I hope I can sneak out during the storm this weekend to try more items. I am lucky it's in my neighborhood :-)

Do you have any other suggestions for this area?

There's actually not a whole lot in the 494/169 area, which is why Bella Cucina is such a treasure. On the EP side there's Papa Murphys and Domico's, further south there is a HomeMade Pizza. And of course McDonalds. The Lai Inn, which is in the same stripmall as Bella Cucina is okay for Chinese food, but it's definitely not my favorite. It's draw comes from it's location mostly.

I don't know much about the restaurants by Old Shakopee, but I heard Zeke's is a pub favorite.

I have tried the Lai Inn and it's ok. It drives me crazy that all you can find is the chain restaurants. We need more daring, delicious mom and pops around here. I have only had a grilled cheese sandwich and it wasn't that great at Zeke's . The beer is good and it's like going to a VFW. If you feeling like going to a old time bar that feels like it should be in a small town, it's perfect. :-)
