Graeter's Ice Cream now available at Kroger stores in Raleigh

klaatu47 Dec 8, 2010 11:11 AM

Just returned from my yearly trip to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving and returned with my usual 12 pints of Graeter's Ice Cream. Was perusing their web site and I saw that they had expanded their distribution to Kroger stores nationwide. Checked locally and they are indeed in stock! Raspberry Chip, Coconut Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip, Mocha Chip and others. Now I'm being self serving in getting this info out as I want to be sure they stay in stock...so be sure to go out and get some...it really is one of the best Super Premium ice creams in the country and their dark chocolate chip flavors are amazing (how they get the chocolate to not freeze in the ice cream is beyond me). You can find out more about Graters and their french pot manufacturing process at their website..... http://graeters.com/ . Now go and get some!

My fiance worked at The Ohio State University and it was like the place for ice cream. I wish I could remember what she said her favorite was though. Thanks for the tip I'll have to check the one in Durham.

Was her favorite Jeni's? I bet it was. I visited Columbus once this summer and tried it & I can't stop talking about it.

I was talking about favorite flavor. No it wasn't Jeni's and her favorite was Raspberry Chip.

Ah. I read that as Columbus being the place for ice cream.
Clearly I just wanted some excuse to talk about Jeni's.

We know of it as well. Sorry I don't think Columbus can lay claim to being the place for ice cream. Though those two local shops would probably put it in the tops.

Yes, I just found it at my local Kroger here in Atlanta! I grew up eating Graeter's in Cincy and the second I saw it there were 3 pints in my cart! Got Vanilla, Toffee Chocolate Chip and Blueberry Pie (a limited time flavor). I'm telling everyone I can to make sure they keep stocking it, just like you!

The one near me has only had the same four flavors, but luckily one of them (Raspberry Chocolate chip) is my fiancee's fave.

I tried a few of their flavors recently. They are okay, but not great, especially considering the price (more expensive than Ben and Jerry's, Haagen Daaz). In fact, I actively disliked the chocolate chips (in flavors like toffee chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip). They are made of pretty poor tasting chocolate. It is nice that they are soft--that is an interesting touch--but I wish they tasted good.
