Taqueria Nationale is right by Johnny's Half Shell. The problem is, no indoor seating, but the tacos are absolutely fantastic and it is a real Chow experience.
Ditto the recs for Bistro Bis and Bistro Cacao.
Also ditto the rec to go elsewhere--Gallery Place/Chinatown is a couple of stops from Union Station and has fabulous eating places.

Union station is on the red line of the metro, which means you can get to many great dining areas easily. Check out the board for searches on Gallery Place/Chinatown, Metro Center, Dupont Circle, Woodley Park and Cleveland Park, all easily accessible from the red line metro. If you want to stay near Union Station, check out Bistro Cacao (French), Art and Soul (southern) and Bistro Bis. For my money, though, I'd get on the metro and get away from Union Station.
