Has the Whoopie Pie craze hit NYC? Where to find them?

No one has replied to this posting yet for 2011. I am also wondering if there are any new recommendations for the best places to find Whoopie Pies.

One Girl Cookies and the Street Sweets truck both make phenomenal pumpkin whoopee pies.

JMF, I'm aware that it's a traditional New England dessert. However, there is certainly a resent resurgence in popularity of the dessert. I'm looking to try some of the newer, more creative versions.

There's a vendor at the greenmarket in union square that sells them. Although I'm not sure what days they are there. I think wednesday or Friday and Saturday. I just had their Pumpkin Whoppie Pies and they were really good.

SweeteryNYC, the old Street Sweets truck, carries chocolate and pumpkin whoopie pies. Check twitter for their location.

there's a stand in the Limelight Marketplace that makes whoopie pies. the whole market is kinda interesting in that it was once a church, then a nightclub and now a shopping mall of sorts. MarieBelle has a great outpost there, as well.

The chef at Flex Mussels makes great deep fried whoopie pies. Don't know if they're still on the menu but I tasted them at last year's Chocolate Show and they were amazing!

Thanks Jess. I'll check it out over Christmas when I visit. I believe he was on Top Chef just desserts.
