Best Restaurants near Seattle Westin

I'll be in Seattle Wednesday thru Friday of this week staying at the Seattle Westin Hotel on Fifth Ave. What are the best restaurants (based foremost on the caiber of the food/cooking)near there?

Are there better restaurants outside this area that I should go to?

Please help!

If you're looking for upscale comfort food, Icon Grill is right across the street. It's very good and has a great atmosphere.

If you have need for any Happy Hour grub, Barolo does a great job from 3:30 - 6:00. Dinner, not so much. And it's basically across the street from the Westin.

        blueacre seafood (7th/olive)
        long provincial (2nd/stewart)
dahlia lounge (4th/virginia - like any tom douglas place, terrific if the fates allow...)
le pichet (1st/virginia - far better than campagne)

agree with serious pie and palace kitchen (see tom douglas comment)

terrific restaurants outside the area but why bother; walking to/from dinner is an urban joy

Palace Kitchen and Mistral Kitchen would be my picks for the immediate area. Both are in easy walking distance. (Palace is on the same block.)

Book Bindery is a short cab ride away and is my favorite place at the moment.

            Sitka & Spruce

In walking distance of the Westin, I can recommend:

              Campagne for French
Serious Pie for casual yet interesting "pizza" (more like fun flatbread)
Palace Kitchen for a nice dinner of applewood grill yummies
Spur for happy hour/cocktails (try the salmon appetizer - so good!)

                Thanks, Frygirl.

I've also come across Spinasse, Anchovies & Olives and Tavolata. Do you have an opinion on any of these?

I don't think you would go wrong at any of them. Spinasse, imo,is world class.

I was just at Spinasse last weekend. SO and I were both very impressed. Exquisite food but not to formal atmosphere led to a great meal. We will def be back.

All three are excellent, but I strongly lean toward Cascina Spinasse. Their handmade pasta is to-die-for.
