Christmas day dinner in Williamsburg

SarahM Dec 7, 2010 06:54 AM

Hi Mid Atlantic Chowhounds,

My husband and I are spending Christmas in Williamsburg, and are looking for a place to have a nice Christmas day dinner somewhere in that area.
Most places i've found on this board that have good reviews/are the type of places we like are closed on Christmas day (Blue Talon, Fat Canary, The Trellis etc).
The Regency Room is open, but has a hefty price tag of $117 a person/pre-fixe.
Can anyone make any recommendations? Willing to pay about $50 a person for food (alcohol separate). It would be great if it was in Williamsburg, but would be willing to drive about 20 mins outside town too.
Not interested in places like the Cracker Barrel etc.

Thanks in advance and happy holidays!!

Fat Canary

Cracker Barrel

I second eating at one of the colonial taverns in the restored area of Williamsburg. Their menus are close to period fare, and they are interesting places to eat.

Hi Sarah, We are making the same trip for the holidays and I am searching for a place to eat on Christmas. I did make a reservation at the Black Angus - but still keeping my options open. If you have not found a restaurant yet, check out their menu on line. Merry Christmas to you!

The taverns within Colonial Wiliamsburg are open on Christmas day.
