Moderate price restaurants Moscone convention center area
Hi: I need recommendations for good food at a moderate price in the area close to Market and the Moscone convention center. We are staying for 4 nights and enjoy a variety of cuisines --Indian, Thai, Italian, fresh local foods etc. Quality is more important than "bulk". One seafood meal is a must.
What would be your top four?

The Sentinel isn't too far of a hoof from Moscone, and they're great for either breakfast or lunch to go.
Eddie Rickenbacker's is just a bit further, and their renditions of classic American are decent and well-priced. Full bar is definitely a bonus for many.

Mochica (excellent Peruvian) on Harrison near Fifth is not that far away and could serve as your seafood option. Zero Zero on Folsom between Fourth and Fifth has excellent pizza, pasta and some great appetizers. Le Charm on Fifth between Folsom and Harrison is a nice little French bistro. Someone else isn't so excited about Cha Am, the Thai restaurant on Folsom just off Third but, at least for lunch, I like it better than the more expensive Osha at the corner of Third and Folsom. In Mint Plaza off Fifth between Mission and Market is Thermidor, Chez Papa and 54 Mint. Check those out, too.

re: Paul H
This little French bistro is on 5th between Folsom and Harrison. It's quite good and has a nice outdoor courtyard.

There's not a lot of good food near the convention center. There's plenty of good food north of Market (FiDi) if you want to spend 10-20 minutes or so to walk there. I'm pretty fond of Perbacco/Barbacco and Tadich on California. None are cheap but they are not pricey, either. There's value, in my opinion, if you seek it out.
Lunch at the Ferry Plaza? Oh yeah. I like cherry-picking from the shops and bringing the goods to the Wine Merchants where I get a chance to eat, drink and gawk at the crowds. Hog Island has its appeal if you're an oyster fan.
Yank Sing on Stevenson is very cool. Spend as much or as little as you want. Lunch only.-----

re: Robert Lauriston
chaat cafe is cheap and pretty good. I'm not a big fan of the Thai restaurant around the corner, though. Pazzia is decent. There's also a cafe on Harrison, I believe, called Epicenter that's quite nice. It's around the corner from Whole Foods
