lunch on Christmas day?
DC chowhound going home for Christmas. Instead of cooking we have decided to go out again this year - last year was Market and it was great. Would love something luxurious and fun - price not really an object. Doesnt seem like much is open and I am so out of the Boston dining scene. Any ideas?? thanks so much

I think we may end up at Petit Robert - wanted to try and break out of the hotel mold since they all seem to be doing buffet brunches that day! thanks everyone

re: Blumie
Though we don't go out to eat on Christmas day, we usually go out Christmas eve, and hotel restaurants are usually the only ones that are reliably open on these holidays. Asana or The Bristol Lounge would be excellent choices, but check out the other hotel places as well.

re: yumyum
We are going out Christmas Eve and Christmas night (parents coming to town and they insist) and used Open Table. I just checked it for lunch on Christmas Day, not knowing how many are in your party, and there are quite a few nice choices. Almost all are associated with hotels. Good luck! Merry Christmas, too.
