Finding Moroccan amlou in Queens?
Any idea where I might be able to find amlou in Queens? Anywhere in or close to Sunnyside would be even better.
Amlou is a delicious Moroccan nut butter / dip made with almonds, honey and argan oil. So even some info on where there are communities of Moroccans would be helpful.
I have a feeling the answer might be somewhere on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, like Sahadi's. But if there's somewhere in Queens, that would be better.

I was just on Steinway yesterday looking for Moroccan products. There seems to be two markets that are specifically Moroccan. First, Tanjawi Market at 25-17 Steinway. In addition to all sorts of Moroccan herbs, dry, and canned goods, Tanjawi is also a bakery that makes fresh berber bread, etc. The second place is Nassem Meat Market and Grocery at 25-65 Steinway. Asthe name implies, its a fully stocked butcher shop that cuts meat to order and has homemade preserved lemons and a full assortment of olives, etc. In addition, the place is packed to the rafters will all kinds of products from Morocco. Finally, I might try one of the Trade Fair Supermarkets in Astoria. I know there is one on 30th Ave right near the N train and another one father down 30th Ave near something 49th Street. I sort of stumbled into them by accident but I was pretty impressed/shocked how well stocked they were with products for the various ethic communities in Queens.

There is a Trade Fair on 30th Avenue just west of the 30th Avenue stop on the N/Q. There is an extensive selection of Middle Eastern groceries, but be aware that they're practically hidden in a wing off to the side of the main store. From the front entrance, it's all the way to your left.
Let us know if you find amlou. It sounds delicious. I've also looked for argan oil, but not been able to find it, so if anyone has recommendations--great. I tried a number of the markets on Steinway.
