Lunch Before the Nutcracker?

I'm looking for a restaurant recommendation for lunch before a Satruday Nutcracker matinee. There will be 3 adults and 2 kids (a six year old and an eleven year old). Both kids are pretty good eaters, and we're not looking for a kids menu for them. We'd like to be able to park once and walk to lunch and the theatre. We're open to most cuisines, but probably wouldn't want to do Asian as that's the six year old's least favorite. We're looking for a mid-priced restaurant, and some place with a lively atmosphere that will keep the kids entertained. Any suggestions?

  1. My kids enjoy Jacob Wirth, which is where we went before the Nutcracker recently. I know it gets a lot of flak on this board, but I like their weiner schnitzel, spaetzle and extensive beer list, including cask conditioned ales. Lots of seating helps because we never have to wait for a table with antsy kids. There is a parking lot right next door, although we lucked out last time and found an on-street spot, so I don't know what the rate is. The lot across from the Opera House was $25. You could park in pretty much any lot around there, though, and be within walking distance of tons of restaurants and the show.
