I like cross roads in st louis park. It's hard to find good latkes. It's funny but sometimes I like to eat the German potato pancakes at Perkins in edina and that reminds me of latkes.

re: sweetkim
that's funny sweetkim that you mention Perkins since one of the best places I've had latkes is at IHOP years ago in Seattle...they no longer have them on the menu.
I'm allergic to sulfites that are often used on dehydrated potatoes so am looking for a place, probably not a chain restaurant, that would be making them from scratch.

re: faith
well, a friend and I went to Fishman's Kosher Deli tonight and had some quite good latkes, they make them from scratch, serve them with applesauce. And I, the low salt queen, actually added a little bit of salt! they were thin and crispy enough, two to an order, could have used 3, so my friend and I split a second plate of them! also had some of their good creamy coleslaw and a piece of noodle kugel with raisins and apples...................don't know how they do all that without any dairy products but they do............
