Adirondacks
Going to be spending a week in The Adirondacks in January. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions about where to eat. I know he ADKS covers a big area we'll be fairly mobile as it is so all suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

re: paddab
In Saranac Lake, Blue Moon Café
In Lake Placid, Caribbean Cowboy (it has mixed reviews, but I like it), Saranac Sourdough, Lisa G's, and Kanu Lounge
In Warrensburg, Oscar's Smokehouse (not a restaurant, but great food)
In Speculator, Melody LodgeDon't bother with the Noon Mark Diner, while the pie is good, the food is not so much.

There are quite a few Lake Placid threads you can search up on this site. I love the Brown Dog Cafe and Wine Bar there, and Chair 6 for breakfasts. The Blue Moon in Saranac Lake is cozy for breakfast, too. Interlaken Inn has good food, less formal in the bar area, and The Cottage on Mirror Lake is good for casual meals, good food.

I would recommend the Chocolate Mill in Glens Falls (164 Glen Street, 518-338-3783). It's exit off the Northway.
I'm surprised there isn't more here about the place, It's a gem. The owner is a master pastry chef, and the pastries and truffles are both really pretty and delicious. My favourite is the Peanut Butter Chocolate Tart. Oh, and the almond croissants rival the ones in Montreal (just wish they made baguette's.)
Haven't had dinner there yet, but the menu looks like a good mix of exotic and local comfort fare.
Coffee's good too.›4 Replies-

I've made this comment before on this blog. The Adirondacks State Preserve is over 6 million acres. That's a lot of ground to cover, especially if one is looking for eating reservations. While I will refrain from commenting on the geographically challenged, please narrow your request just a little bit.
