"casual and energetic" restaurant in dupont?

iris45 Dec 5, 2010 12:39 PM

I have to put together a dinner for a group of work colleagues (who are all men) on Tuesday night. They are meeting in the Dupont Circle area that day so I need to pick something withing walking distance of their meeting. My boss' only directives were to find a place that is "casual (but still appropriate for a work group) and energetic." Any ideas? Thanks!

Sette Osteria would work for the group. Good pizza and pasta options and large enough that they can take a group without an issue.

I have not personally been, but a friend had a team dinner at the Mad Hatter when he was in town for a conference and thought it was perfect for a casual work dinner. And it's really close to Dupont Circle - not even a block S on Connecticut.

Actually the burger at the Madhatter was pretty good when I had it. But it can get a little loud in there, especially during Happy Hour.

Lauriol Plaza. They don't take reservations but on Tuesday you shouldn't have a problem. There are a lot of haters on this board just because it's cool to down Lauriol but the food is perfectly good, and they have some really great Peruvian dishes I have only found while I was in Peru.
