Is anybody from Charlotte NC?
If so ,where do you go out to eat? Any nice steak places here?

I've been to Ruth's Chris, Morton's, DelFrisco's, Chima (I'll consider it a steakhouse for this comparison) but so far the best steak I've had in Charlotte has been at Sullivan's on South Blvd.
All were as good as is to be expected due to the chain status and reputation, but for some reason I remember being surprised and enjoying the steak from Sullivan's more than the other chains. The other thing I remember about Sullivan's was that the service was atrocious (might have just been my server).
Beef & Bottle is next on my list, but I went once with the wife and she refused to go in after looking at the building. Since they're closed for lunch, I have to find a dinner buddy to try it out.

I would say that you shouldn't judge Beef & Bottle by its appearance, but you pretty much get what you see. Its a steakhouse as they existed 40 years ago, and really the only local comparison you could make is the Ranch House, which is also frozen in time. I say this as a Charlotte native and a fan of both. I recommend trying them if you are nostalgic about ye olde steakhouses, or maybe you want a nice meal AND good service without caring about shiny surroundings. They're not as snooty as Sullivans and the like. I have to laugh when I feel pretension from a chain restaurant.

I just went to Sullivan's and I haven't ever felt like any part of it is snooty. My family goes every year around the holidays and we've always been treated very well. This year we had two servers, a mother and daughter, who couldn't have been more helpful and sweet. I also go to Capital Grille a few times a year for work and have always found the waitstuff courteous and extremely professional. That all said, I'd take Beef and Bottle over either of them but my mother is too snooty to go there.

I was underwhelmed by BLT Steak - but I'm not a big fan of hotel restaurants or the high end chain steak restaurant concept either. Nor do I care for an a la carte menu. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and dinner was the least favorite of all the menus. The prices are through the roof too. There are far better steaks in this city. I just assume go to Firebirds, 131 Main. But Beef & Bottle is a throwback, old school steakhouse - give it a try, OP.

I only ate there only once. It was for dinner and I was whelmed. The ribeye was a fine piece of beef, IMHO a cut above what is served in the other "high end" steak places which I do not care for. The Ribeye was magnificent. The prices are stupid high and yes as you said everything is ala carte. As I mentioned in my previous post the best way to dine here is as a guest.
At Beef and bottle the salad and the retro atmosphere were nice. At the Ranch House which was not mentioned yet the shrimp cocktail has the best cocktail sauce EVER and great blue cheese dressing, but the steaks at both did not do anything for me. For me and if I'm paying I have to agree with you on Firebirds a tasty steak and it doesn't break the bank.-----

for steaks I like BLT the best (of the upscale steak houses). I just like the way they prepare their steaks better than the others.

re: mljones99
Comparing BLT Steak to Beef and Bottle is a bit like comparing Brigitte Bardot to Bea Arthur.
Even if its Bea Arthur with good salad dressing and cool retro dressing crudites bowls.
B& B has a retro iceberg salad with good dressing and a Harris teeter quality steak. BLT Steak is a serious place with serious beef and they charge serious money. The best way to dine at BLT is as a guest.-----

re: southernitalian
Beef and Bottle is like a step back in time. Very much an old school steakhouse. The exterior leaves a bit to be desired but the food is good. It has been a long time since I have been but I seem to remember they are also known for their salad dressings.

Charlotte has many, many excellent restaurants.. You might want to do a search and get some ideas, or post more details about exactly what type of food you are looking for, where in Charlotte, etc. Charlotte also has a lot of steakhouses, none of which I have any experience with. They include Beef and Bottle, Morton's, Del Frisco, Ruth's Chris and BLT Steak.
I apologize for the rudeness of some of the other posters.
