Nutritional Yeast--Cheap?

GraceW Dec 4, 2010 11:08 PM

Hi, I have never used Nutritional Yeast before but I want to give it as a gift (I have a relative who is one of those health-freak people). I've seen it at Whole Foods but only in a huge expensive tub. Does anyone know where I can get it for cheap?

I have a 5 ounce container of Red Star that I probably paid $4 or $5 for? I don't remember what the price was but I bought it at an independent health food store if this is any help to you.

I buy mine in bulk from the local natural foods/health food store. I haven't bought it in a while, so I don't have a prices per pound, but it was not very expensive at all.

Most natural foods stores sell it in bulk. Often the bin is quite dark (to protect it from light) so it can be easy to pass right by and not notice. ISTR buying a plastic sandwich bag amount for under $2.00 not so long ago.
