J R Seafood on Bayshore Blvd......any opinions?

I just drove by J.R. Seafood (wholesale and retail) on Bayshore Blvd.. which I didn't know existed.

It looks like this could be a very convenient source of quality fish for me, so i jumped online to find out if it is any good. But I was suprised that I couldn't find any references to this place (good or bad) here on Chowhound. It gets some very good reviews on yelp, but I don't trust yelp as far as I can throw it.

So, is anybody familiar with J.R. Seafood? Do they have good quality fish/prices? Do they have ample supply for the retail side (or is it primarily a wholesale business)? What are the pros/cons of this place?

Of particular interest, do they carry live, local crab in season? And, if so, can they cook and clean it?

Can't speak to crab there.

I stopped there for paella fixins a few months ago. There was nothing in the display case and after a while an uninterested worker came out from the back. I skeptically ordered some shrimp and clams, both of which turned out to be way past their prime. I ended up tossing them in the trash and going to Sun Fat at mission & 23rd. I won't be wasting my time there again.

jr seafood is between domino's and a mex grocery right?
happened to walk by here to get a burrito at the corner. didn't see anyone in jr., no seafood was on display. this was early afternoon, 1-2.

would guess all their biz is in the late afternoon or early morning.

I realize that was your intent, however, I do like to know where places are and what they say about themselves. There are Yelp comments but you know which spice to take those with a grain of.
