I can't think of where to take my kids for latkes + something yummy and preferably vaguely traditional so I can have another glorious night of fried food and something like tradition without the mess. Suggestions? We're in Waltham, closer is better but not the only factor!

Zaftigs! Whenever we're too lazy to cook a Jewish feast we let them do it for us. If you haven't been they are so kid friendly.

We ended up @ Johnny's in Newton Center- just due to convenience based on today's schedule.
My side of latkes was good, my husband's special hanukkah giant latke was nothing to write home about.
Cheeseburger was tasty but kid's burger was overcooked.
Matzoh ball soup for my son, it's something he loves, and still does. Again, decent, not Earth-shattering.
It was nice & quiet and totally accommodating for our 2 small children, but keeping in mind it was 5pm.
