Lunch in Brisbane
Due to the ongoing slump, I've reluctantly taken on a project in Brisbane, which is a little outside my normal "work radius". Since I won't be making any large profit on this job I'm wondering if there are any "houndworthy" joints of any designation to make the job more palatable. Not looking for fancy, just interesting and good. (I understand that in antediluvian times (i.e. before the completion of Hwy.101) Brisbane was a destination dining site for those who didn't want to bother with going to Sausalito for waterfront dining.)

I work in Brisbane and you'll be pleasantly surprised at your options. All of these places are on Visitacion Avenue, the main street in town. Nothing outstanding at the strip mall with the BofA. Drive past it and the park to get to the places below.
First choice is Star Box Foods. The chocolate moelleux are to die for. Everything is fresh.
Not to miss are the sandwiches at Julies Deli. They have crab salad sandwiches on Fridays. I can only finish a half sandwich. Also love the spinach salad.
Lucky House for cheap but good Chinese. Great soup.
Madhouse Coffee at the end of the road. The patio has views of Candlestick and the bay. I always go for the soups.-----

Here's my post about the area from a couple of years ago.

I have heard that there is a gathering place for food trucks in the office building parking lots off of Marina Blvd (east side of 101).

re: wolfe
other regulars there are: chairman bao, curbside, little green cyclo, kara's karavan, southern sandwich, seoul on wheels. Star Box brings sandwiches, quiche and salads and usually chairs and canopy. (of the list above I've only seen Hapa SF and Iz it)
