Are there any local breweries/brewpubs that sell their beer in bottles? We are throwing some Christmas gift ideas around and are considering making samplings of local brews.

  1. I'll consider the Southern California area as local in this case.

    1. The Bruery in Orange County has some excellent craft brews.

      1. check the SD area (oceanside, carlsbad area) for beer wineries. they brew their own and bottle them for sale.
Stone brewery (the famous Arrogant Bastard beer is from there)
they have more in that area with some very cool bottles.

by the way, a day trip out there is totally worth it. Stone brewery has brewery tour thats pretty cool. we did stone and lost abbey one afternoon and had quite a few 1 oz tastes of various beers....all of which they sell bottles of (stuff you wont find in the markets)

        2. Great gift, Eagle Rock Brewery sells growlers of their beers. I think a growler would make your xmas gift even more special. You would want to buy it as close to x mas as you can so it would be fresh when they open it. They are open Thursday to Sunday.

If you just want to get regular bottles you have plenty of breweries to choose from.

Alpine, Ballast Point, Alesmith, Bruery, Stone, Lost Abbey, Port, Bootleggers to name a few.

If you stop at one of the better bottles shop that specializes in beer it would be really easy for them to help you pick out an all Southern CA lineup.

Great recs. A couple places I like for good beer selections are Wallys (Weswood) and The Beverage Warehouse (Culver City/Marina-ish).

Awesome. Thanks so much for this info.

            2. K&L (near sunset & vine) and Cap N' Cork (Hillhurst) both carry an excellent variety of beers including many socal breweries like the bruery, stone, pizza port, alpine, lost abbey, etc.
