It's on the map to your right. South side of 2nd Ave just east of Centre St (there is no "zero" block in Calgary; 100 E is the first block east of Centre- you might be looking east of 1st SW which as you can see doesn't exist for 2nd Ave).

I meant "1st St SE." 2nd Ave SE does not intersect with 1st St SE

Head north on Centre St, turn right onto 2 Ave SE. Calgary Court is on your right. The sign isn't very clear but it's pretty much in between Dessert House and MBA.

I quite like Calgary Court, have gotten lots of take out from there lately. I like the rice noodle dish with shrimp and slippery egg-y sauce... not sure what it's called on the English menu but it's "Wat Dan Ha Hor" in Cantonese.

      Good luck.

I think I will try this restaurant out. Have been meaning to for long time, but keep forgetting about it. Can anyone recommend any dishes to try here???

Urbanspoon has a copy of their menu up: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/15/190281...

The dish I was referring to is called, "Shrimp Egg Fried Ho Fan", I also like their "Assorted Meat and Vegetable Fried Noodles" and "Beef Fried Ho Fan with XO sauce".

I see a lot of people ordering the pork chop baked rice so I assume that is probably a good dish. I've had the boiled gai lan a couple times, find it overcooked.

One of the only places in town that serves Hainanese Chicken Rice. It's not Singapore but it's not terrible.

The absolutely most delicious thing I've had at Calgary Court is those fried bread things wrapped with rice "crepe" pasta, with peanut and hoisin sauces- addictive but so bad for you!

I love that crepe thing with the peanut and hoisin.. I also really like their baked rice with pork chop. It is usually really good.

The one dish that has me hooked like crack is their Fried Pork Chop with Tomato Sauce Baked Rice. Honestly, every time I go there that dish crosses my mind. I don't know why but it's just that good. I mean the deep fried pork chop covered with tomato sauce and melted cheese over a bed of fried rice and then baked in the oven. Sooo goood. I also always ask for their Chinese Soup (Zhong Tong) and it's the type of soup your Chinese grandmother would have boiling on the kitchen stove for hours where all the flavors of the ingredients come out- and it's only $2.00 a bowl!!! They don't have it advertised on their menu, but it's usually the soup that they would include if you get a set meal.

I know exactly what you talking about. I love this dish (the fried pork chop with tomato sauce) so much and have to get it almost every time I'm there. But I cant just get the pork alone so I opt to get the steak and pork chop combination. If you like this dish, I would suggest trying it at Happy Valley just on the other side of the block for this as well. Its a little cheaper but not as good, plus you only get the choice of pork chop or steak, not what I usually get.

But Calgary Court also has their daily dinner deals which is so large its hard for one person to eat. Being two small Asian people, by girlfriend and I used only order one of their dinner deals for 12.95 I think and you get soup ( I get the creamy soup), a small salad, the daily entree, and rice to share. Although I think this was meant for one person given their smaller portions of soup and salad, I could never eat it all alone. YUM YUM YUM.

Do they still have the Portguese Baked Chicken on Rice? That stuff is awesome! I get it from Sun Chui Kee all the time.

                And the Ja Leung!

HAHAHA, I just went there tonight had both their pork chop with tomato sauce baked rice and Ja Leung! My husband and I were so full, actually had to take left overs home because it was so much food. But my bill came out to exactly $21.00 including two Chinese soups on the side. Also, I'm pretty sure they have Portguese Baked Chicken on Rice. Sun Chui Kee and Calgary Court are from the same owners so I'm sure they have it. I know Pebble Street is also from the same owner and they have the same pork chop with tomato sauce baked rice dish there too!

I walk by this place fairly often and it's usually quite busy. Now I know what to order so I'm looking forward to a visit soon.

After this thread, I ordered the ja leung and baked pork chop on rice as well. HUGE portion! That pork chop dish lasted me 3 meals. Very tasty as well. Still love my egg and shrimp on rice noodle but may opt for pork chops once in a while.

it's cheaper but not nearly as good as Calgary Court, Happy Valley is our usual haunt but Calgary Court rocks the pork chop.

Curse you pasaker, you have ruined Chinatown for me. Now all I can think about when I get near there is this baked pork chop. The only time that I get to anywhere else in Calgary's Chinatown now is when Calgary Court is too busy and I'm too hungry to wait in line!

HAHA alley! Sorry! That baked pork chop is addicting. Honestly, it took me awhile to off of that addiction and try to branch out to other parts of the menu. Right now I'm hooked on their Dan Dan Noodles that they have with it's own special flyer (off the menu) and they have a new type of pork chop that is on a sizzling plate with an egg-like sauce... ohhh *drool had that twice since it came out. AND honestly, there's a reason why they're busier than other parts of Chinatown. Let's be honest, they're fast, cheap and good. Food is always fresh, and I've never had a problem with anything so far. The other day I bought their chilli oil to take home too! (Since i know they make it themselves, the waitress gave me a fresh batch) AND AND!! I've even seen their employees eat there on their day off! So you know they use fresh ingredients! :)

Love that place. You may already know this, but the owner has three other similar restaruants in Calgary: Sun Chiu Kee ("Sun's BBQ"), Pebble Street, and Hong Kong Cafe. I consider all of them to be part of the Calgary Court "chain", because the menus are interchangable, i.e. at any location you can order anything that's on any of the menus of the above-mentioned locations.

If you like curry, I highly recommend the Malaysian Curry Fish w/steamed rice. Unbelievably tasty, and if you eat it fresh at the restuarant (as opposed to take-out) the fish has a slightly crispy battered texture under the sauce that is so good it will make you weep.
